The Elton Boat Club is a short walk (5 mins) from Warmington village centre, through Eaglethorpe, under the community-painted walkway through to Warmington Mill.

The club has a membership of 118 and has moorings for 42 boats each being allocated 40ft of river bank in the millstream to Warmington Mill. There are also 2 moorings reserved for visitors. The maximum length of boat ttat can be accomodated is 36ft.

The Clubhouse boasts a kitchen, lounge, toilets and showers which are all available free to members.

The Club owes its very existence to the hard work and dedication of members past and present who gave up their free time to help with the running of the club.

An active social scene which includes dances and Bar-B-Qs helps with fund-raising and is an important part of  life at EBC.

The club is self-financed and the majority of income is generated from subscriptions and mooring fees. They say "we rely heavily on voluntary help from members with such things as grass-cutting and general upkeep of the Clubhouse and grounds".

As a member of the ASSOCIATION OF NENE RIVER CLUBS (ANRC), Elton Boat Club particpates in the annual boat rally which is held at various locations along the river on the Spring Bank holiday. A lot of members enjoy taking part in this 3-day extravaganza, but it is by no means compulsory.

Each year in September, EBC holds an Open Day where they throw their doors wide open and invite the village to spend an afternooon with them by the river. These have proved highly successful and it gives visitors and guests the opportunity to enjoy a boat trip on the river.  There are refreshments provised and the usual stalls i.e. Tombola, Books, Bric-a-Brac and Games to entertain young and old alike.

With boating becoming an evermore popular pastime, Elton Boat Club provides an ideal base from which to enjoy the beautiful Nene Valley and all that it has to offer.

Warmington Allotments were established in 2003 on land in Stamford Lane leased from Elton Estate by Warmington Parish Council.

Today there are 3 full plots and 18 half plots.

The annual rent is £30 for a full plot and £15 for a half plot.

The allotments are thriving and local residents are always encouraged to put their name on the waiting list.

Facilities include a large communal shed, 5 outside taps, and the services of the Parish Council contractors who regularly cut the grass and hedge.  Tenants can have shed on their own individual lot if required.

Tenants can access the Warmington Horticultural Society's 'Sutton Seeds Group' whereby seeds can be obtained at a 50% reduction.

Each year there is an annual plot competition arranged through the Warmington Horticultural Society and coinciding with the annual village show.

In 2018 the Primary School was welcomed onto the Allotments following the establishment of the Warmington School Garden.  The school brings children to the School Garden weekly for classes run by volunteers together with teachers.

If you would like to have further information about the allotments and/or have your name put on the waiting list please contact Richard Bream, the Parish Councils Allotment Coordinator, via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
